I expect people to think we are crazy when we tell them. I expect people to think we are throwing a life down the drain. We don’t see it that way.
My wife and I have been married for just over 3 years. We have a 13 year old and a new baby
on the way, along with our two dogs. I’ve been working in technology up to this point in life, and now I am ready for something different to reset and change the pace. We recently agreed that leaving everything we have and going cruising was exactly what we both wanted.
The big house, three cars, fancy boat on a lake, high paying job, big titles, “contacts,” resume, LinkedIN, twitter, etc. etc. We started questioning what is the point? This isn’t happy. This is meeting expectations of the people that have gone here before. This is following in steps towards stability in a life that doesn’t bring joy.
We are changing that. We want a life that shuns consumerism and embraces experiencing reality and survival with less.
This blog is our story of how we went from everything to nothing, and found what really matters.
